The Power of 528 Hz

I have been challenged this past month with work and with family.  In the past two months, I have trained in two new departments in the store, and worked shifts I’ve never worked in my professional life.  Next week, I will act as a nutrition coach during the first monthly meeting of my store’s group weight loss challenge.  Change, change, everywhere.

With these changes, I have experienced revelation after revelation.  One of them was that my body didn’t want to sleep during the day to accommodate an overnight shift.  I am fortunate because my boyfriend, nurturer that he is, played this video for me to help me to sleep in the early evening before my second of four all-night shifts.  It put me right to sleep.  It also started a trend, because on the third day of my temporary schedule, I was able to fall asleep in the early evening without the video.

That is the power of 528 Hz, a frequency which is reputed to repair DNA, and promote harmony within you; harmony that extends to the universe.  Some call it the love frequency. Naturally, I wanted to share it with all of you!

I hope it can help those who are challenged by insomnia.  We all know how lack of sleep can lower our quality of life. I am going to share the video with my weight loss group because studies show that sleep is important for weight loss, as well as for overall health.  Let’s all go for at least five consecutive hours of sleep.

Please enjoy this meditative sequence, and let me know if it helps you, too!

As always, thanks for reading!

The Author Reads From Chapter 7 of “The Dreaming”

I have so much to celebrate! Desert Sunrise has received its first review, and I’m excited to say that it was five stars!

Also, I took the opportunity to thank Ann, one of my longtime supporters, by asking her what her favorite part of The Dreaming is so that I could read it on video for her. She told me that the visits with Dana and Lucy were her favorites, along with the sequences in the Dreaming. I chose a scene from chapter 7 where Dana and Lucy have lunch, and Dana tells Lucy about the strange dreams she has been having.

Though live readings by authors are becoming less common now, I hope to preserve part of the fun with my video reading.

Do you have a favorite part of The Dreaming or Desert Sunrise that you would like for me to read on video?  Tell me about it.

Thank you for reading, watching, and listening,

Gina

Spotlight: Distance Reiki

Reiki practitioners generally believe that all things are made of a form of energy. If that energy isn’t balanced, the person, animal, plant, or what have you, doesn’t feel right. That’s when a Reiki practitioner could be called on to help out with getting the energy back into balance. I am also fond of calling it a relaxation therapy. A session can take place in person, over the phone, or even on the other side of the Earth with no physical contact between the sender and the receiver; which brings me to the subject of this post.

How well does distance Reiki really work? If you call me for help with something that is bothering you, whether the bother is a physical, mental, or emotional one, is there something I can actually do that will make a difference for you?

I have asked two of my clients to share their experiences with distance Reiki.  This is what they had to say:

What do you experience during a distance Reiki session?
Client 1 answered: “Even when taking a distance Reiki session I can feel the energy surround me. It’s a wonderful relieving feeling to know that distant Reiki can really work.”
Client 2 answered: “Release of illness, burdens, fears, hate, anger, and many other unwanted feelings.”

How do you feel after a distance Reiki session?
Client 1 answered: “I feel very sleepy for about two hours then I start to clean my home and everything else I can. I also feel re-energized.”
Client 2 answered: “Light spirit, love, joy, peace, and a feeling of well being.”

Do you feel that distance Reiki “does” anything?
Client 1 answered: “Absolutely. It makes my world an even easier place to live in. I really can build up the stress level in my life.”
Client 2 answered: “Absolutely.”

Do you recommend distance Reiki to others?
Client 1 answered: “I have, yes. I usually tell people about it because of the way it makes me feel about myself.”
Client 2 answered: “Positively.”

How many distance Reiki sessions have you experienced?
Client 1 answered: “Wow! I’m really not sure, but I think I have received at least twelve.”
Client 2 answered: “Approximately 20.”

Will you use distance Reiki in the future?
Client 1 answered: “Only if I need it. I do a lot of meditating on my own time, plus yoga classes.”
Client 2 answered: “Without a doubt.”

Now for some background. Client 1 grew up in an extremely abusive home and experienced more physical, mental, and emotional abuse than I would have believed possible. Client 1 has, with the aid of Reiki and other practices, gone on to live what most people would consider a normal life.

Client 2 has experienced devastating losses including all siblings, three children, both parents, and a spouse of more than forty years. Client 2  lives what most people would consider to be a normal life. They would never guess at the levels of loss that came before they met.

Distance Reiki is one of the most miraculous experiences I’ve ever had. If you have the opportunity to receive it, I strongly encourage you to try it.  The technique is taught during level II training.

Please feel free to share your thoughts with me in the comments below.

What Is Reiki?

There could be as many descriptions of what Reiki is, how it works, and even if it works, as there are people to talk about it. What I’m sharing here is my perception and experience with Reiki as a student, practitioner, and teacher. My Reiki experience began in 2005. In 2007 I became a master teacher. I have taught all four of the levels.

Reiki is a relaxing, stress relieving, technique. During a session a client can choose to have conversation, or silence, or something in between. My clients and I typically laugh because it feels so ridiculously good to let go of so many things that were weighing us down.

Reiki can be done anywhere. In health spas, for example, the client usually lies down on a massage table. However, Reiki is not a massage technique. It is a form of energy work, meaning that it works on the energy that makes up the mind, the body, and the spirit. That’s why Reiki is as effective on the phone, or at a distance without direct contact, as it is in person. Some clients feel better if you place a hand on them while they’re receiving Reiki in person. Others don’t like to be or need to be touched at all. It sounds mystical, doesn’t it?  Two of my long-term clients shared their experiences with distance Reiki.  Feel free to click on the link if you’d like to read what they said.

You can read about studies verifying the efficacy of Reiki here: http://www.centerforreikiresearch.org/
If you’d like to read a history of Reiki, follow this link: http://www.reiki.org/faq/HistoryOfReikiToCopy.html

What is Reiki good for? Literally anything. If you consider that stress is the cause of most problems, then the relief of the stress will leave you feeling better. I have to say that if I hadn’t experienced it for myself, I’d be a skeptic.

What happens during a Reiki session is this: your practitioner will help you into a comfortable position. Sessions typically last for one hour, though they can be shorter or longer. You may be touched on your head, hands, stomach, legs, knees, and feet. Or, as I mention above, not at all. Your practitioner may stay in one place and simply place their hands over you. What the client feels is anything from relaxation to a deep sleep.

Here’s a sample of a Reiki treatment by William Rand of the International Center for Reiki Training.

So, in summary, Reiki is a relaxation technique. Ideally the client goes into the session feeling heavy, upset, confused, etc. and comes out of it feeling refreshed, healthy, and energized.

I have openings for Reiki sessions and classes. See my Menu of Services post for more information about scheduling and costs.

Build Some Healing Love For Yourself

Hi, everyone! This beautiful Spring-like weather is putting smiles on a lot of faces. Folks were out in droves at the Farmer’s Market on Saturday wearing shorts and sandals. We’re enjoying it.

I have a short video to share from Abraham-Hicks. If you’ll look in chapter 1 of the workbook, you see that I mention them as one of the tools in the toolbox of living the life you want. There’s an excellent exercise in it for doing exactly that. It’s all about love.

What, you don’t have a workbook? That can be fixed! I’d love to be a part of your discovery.
