12 HOLIDAY MOTIVATION TIPS
to get you started on time for the upcoming season.
from C.D. Hersh
The holidays are nearly on us, and with them come extra work decorating the house, the lawn, the trees, baking all those Christmas cookies and goodies, shopping, cleaning, holiday parties to attend and give, and scads of other things that can take you away from your WIP. This year give yourself a head start with a little motivation to sit down at the computer and keep writing. Start planning now for a successful holiday writing season.
Here are a few tips on how to motivate yourself to write during the holidays.

Dried kiwi and apples that don’t turn brown. Thanks, Aunt Juju. I’d love to serve this at a party.
Is anyone celebrating Friendsgiving this year? Please refer to last years post Friendsgiving With the Bombsquad at Cherry Bombe. Last week began their second year of celebrating these fun zoom discussions/demonstrations with “friends” based around food.

If you are gathering together with friends before Turkey Day a Fall/Thanksgiving charcuterie board is a great way to share. I love to make these but go crazy trying to decide on which ingredients to buy and use. So many kinds of meat, cheese, crackers and so on. But having a theme makes it easier.

There are so many homemade recipes that would give your board a personal touch such as dips, marinated veggies, salami roses, parmesan crisps, homemade cookies and the list is endless. I chose not to do that this time as I was short on time and wanted to assemble this before Thanksgiving. See my post Salami Roses for another…

First look at the Food As Ally community, launching in January.

This is the first foodasally.com post, representing a rounded approach to eating and teaching about eating. Food As Ally is about reclaiming our food choices, listening to our hunger and satiety signals, and being supported as we do.
I ate what I wanted, when I wanted, and how much of it I wanted. In doing this today, I discovered that my breakfast smoothie is too filling for me today and that I can wait until I want fruit to eat it. Even if that’s not today. Or tomorrow. If I look at this breakfast from the certified nutrition consultant perspective, there’s nothing wrong with it. I gave myself permission to eat what I wanted and what I wanted tasted good and I’m almost ready to eat again. It kept me full longer than I thought it would.
More discoveries await!

This year, just like last, due to the pandemic, Mexico’s Independence Day (September 16) public festivals and government official re-enactments of the initial call for independence – “El Grito” – were cancelled, or broadcast last night. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and first lady Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller, appeared at the front balcony of the National Palace; after observing one minute of silence in honour of the 269,912 people who have died in Mexico due to COVID19, the president proceeded to beseech the virtual audience to proclaim:
“Mexicanos, viva la Independencia; viva Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla; viva José María Morelos y Pavón; viva Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez; viva Ignacio Allende; viva Leona Vicario; viva Vicente Guerrero; vivan los Héroes Anónimos; viva la libertad; viva la justicia; viva la igualdad; viva la democracia; viva la honestidad; viva nuestra soberanía; viva…

Drooling over these. They’re on the menu this week.

It was going to be one #sheetpandinner of #chickenthighs & #sweetpotatoes aka #yams BUT it would’ve been WAY to crowded, so I did them separate; still #sheetpanmeals though with a fresh delicious #salad 😋
The chicken marinated all day in yogurt w/seasonings…that included #turmeric & #paprika – I removed the skin but they’re bone in. And made a couple cuts across top of each thigh before putting in marinade 😉

Thank you to Feedium for publishing my book review.

If you read one book about chakras this year, I highly recommend Archetypal Chakras because Bittlinger had multiple approaches which I believe is one of the book’s strengths. Thank you to Feedium for publishing my review, which you can read by clicking right here.
Peace and love,
Gina
